PRESENT: Directors: Carrillo, Morales ABSENT: None STAFF: Kelly Malloy, Public Affairs/Conservation Manager; Cecilia Contreras, Senior Administrative Assistant; Stephanie Guida, Community Relations Officer GUEST(s): None PUBLIC COMMENTS The Senior Administrative Assistant declared the public participation section of the meeting open at 3:01 pm. There being no written or verbal comments, the public participation section was closed. Director Morales deferred the minutes to be approved by Director Carrillo since he was new to this committee. APPROVE THE JUNE 3, 2016 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Director Carrillo approved the June 3, 2016 committee meeting minutes. APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 2, 2016 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Director Carrillo approved the September 2, 2016 committee meeting minutes. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE Ms. Kelly Malloy, Public Affairs/Conservation Manager, provided an overview of the current legislations that the District is monitoring and a recap of several meetings regarding the State Emergency Drought regulations and affordable water rates she has attended. Ms. Malloy stated that the District is also watching legislation regarding the Proposition 218 revisions, goods & service charges, long term conservation, and rulings on the public records act regarding the public’s right to information from personal devices. She also stated that the District is watching multiple bills that are on ACWA’s watch list and will report back to the committee once more information is received. 2 Minutes 03/03/2017 cmc Ms. Malloy stated that a special committee meeting may be scheduled to discuss the outcome of the bills that are being watched. Information only. OUTREACH UPDATE Ms. Malloy expressed that staff is reviewing the current Communications plan and it will be brought back to the next committee meeting for the Directors input after the District’s current Agency Ideals and Endeavors are incorporated. She stated that potential Fiscal Year 2017/18 communication goals may include implementation of the Speakers Bureau, an increase in social media engagement, and the enhancement of internal communication. She reviewed the current style guide and explained that all the photo’s that are used in handouts, documents, and social media are all from our District Information only.
