' WATER COMPANY coutd._On motion of Director Botts, duly seconded by Director Littleton and carried unanimously, the Board of.Direators hereby requests Mr. McGlothlen furnish this Board with an itemised inventory of all the capital assets - included in, and in suprort a letter from Mr. McGlothlen, dated June 19, 1954, addressed to Mr. Dana Brooks, Chaiiman,of the Board, and the Secretary is hereby . • ordered to address a letter to said B. F. MoGlothlen requesting same. ACCOUNTS The Secretary presented the following warrants for PAYABLE approval and payment: 1. News Advertiser $19.50 2. Rialto Publishing Co. 9.64 9. Highland Messenger • 15.00 4. Mary Geslerr 2.00 On motion of Director Wall, duly seconded by Director Littleton, and carried unanimously, the above warrants were ordered issued and paid. Dana Brooks, President EAST SAN BERNARDINO CWNTY WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS - REGULAR MEETING OF JULY 9, 1954 juy 9 1954 The -Board of Directors met in regular- session at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Jtly 9, 1954, at the regular meeting place. ROLL CALL Directors presents Botts, Brooks, Geslerj Littleton, Wall. MINUTES Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Discussion was had with reference to the acgnisition,of EADIE WATER the Eadie Water -System. Engineer Rowe reported on his appraisal SYSTEM of same. He came to an estimated value of $28,500.00. He re- ported that the value placed on the system by Mr. Eadie was 92,400.00 and that.he had offered to sell it'to the District for $31,500.00. - The system had a gross revenue of $5,227.15 for the fis- oal•year 1953. Its expenses were: Meter Reading and Billinq $1,198.90 Shperintendenbe 8 Bi- Wbekly Check .744.64 Water Collection 327.75 Power 575.07 Property Taxes 49.88 Depreciation .781.81 Total $3,678.05 The net revenue was $1,549.10. After discussion, it was concluded that a conference be had by President Brooks and the representatives of the.District JULY 9, 1954 with Mr. Eadie, with the view of arriving at a final purchase figure. A further discusssion was had with reference to the PIONEER GARDENS purchase of the Pioneer Gardens Water System. Reports were WATER SYSTEM made on numerous conferences which had been had by President Brooks and the representatives of the District with Mr. McGlothlen. A letter from Mr. McGlothlen, dated July 9, 1954,'which'the Board had previously requested, was discussed extensively. Mr. McGlothlen was contacted and an appointment was made with him for 9 o'clock the next morning, at which time President Brooks, Engineer Rowe and Attorney Wilson would further confer with him in order to arrive at a better under- standing of the assets of the company and a final price for its purchase by the District. Dana Brooks, President EAST SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS - ADJOURNED REGULAR JULY 16, 1954 MEETING HELD JULY 16,.1954 — The Board of Directors met at 7:80 o'clock P.M., July 16, 1954 at the regular meeting place. ROLL.CALL: Directors present: Botts, Brooks, Geller, Littleton, Wall. MINUTES Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. PIONEER GARDENS The President reported on the negotiations carried on WATER COMPANY by him with Mr. McGlothlen, in association with Engineer Rowe and Attorney Wilson. Most of the meetings were attended by Director Littleton and some by Director Botts. As a result, a price of $675,000 with certain qualifications was agreed upon to be submitted to this Board. The Board.read and studied the first draft of the pro - PROPOSED posed contract for the purchase of the Pioneer Gardens Water CONTRACT Company system prepared.by Attorney Wilson. The foregoing con - tract was reviewed and corrected. EADIE WATER Attorney Wilson also reported that he and Engineer SY17 M Rowe had arrived at a price of $28,600 for the East San Ber- PROPOSM nardino Water Company or Eadie water system. The Board read CONTRACT and studied the first draft of the proposed contract for the purchase of the Eadie Water system. The foregoing contract - was reviewed and corrected. It was ordered that Attorney Wilson prepare second drafts of the above contracts, as corrected and revised, and mail them to the two companies for consideration. APPLICATIONS The Board conferred with James H. Paulin, Jr., presently FOR MANAGER employed by the City of San Bernardino water system, who has OF THE DISTRICT presented anapplication for the position of manager. Director Littleton discussed Harold Rickert as a pro - spective manager. 91
