The Board of Directors met at 2:00 O'clock, P.M., January 28, 1957,
at the regular meeting place.
ROLL CALL Directors Present: Brooks, Botts, Littleton, Taylor, Wall
Directors Absent: None
Also Present: • Manager Rickert, Engineer Rorie, Ernest A. Wilson,
of Kirkbride, Wilson, Harzfeld & Wallace,
Attorneys at Law, San Mateo, California, other
interested parties, and the Secretary.
WATER BONDS This being the time and place fixed" for receiving bids for the
OF 1957 sale of General Obligation Bonds of the District in the principal Sri
amount of $750,000.00, as indicated by Affidavits of Publication on
file with the Secretary of the District, President Brooks ordered the
bids to be opened, which were found to be as follows:

Following discussion of the bids received, Attorney Wilson stated
that the bid of BANK OF AMERICA, N. T. & S. A. and Associates, was the
best bid, and he recormended that it be accepted.
On motion by Director Wall, duly seconded by Director Littleton,
and carried unanimously upon roll call vote, Resolution No. 80, award-
ing sale of bonds, was adopted, said Resolution No. 80 reads as
follows:

RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the East San Ber-
nardino.County Water District, San Bernardino, California, that
JHEREI'6, pursuant to Resolution No. 76 Calling for Bids on
the Sale of ;750,000 Water Bonds of 1957, adopted by said Board,
notice of said sale has been duly given;
WHERFS:,, t::is is the time and place fixed therein for re-
ceiving bids for the purchase of said bonds, and said bids have been
received and publicly opened, examined and declared by this Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
GRANT OF EFSE-
MENT, BROOKS,
RESOLUTION 110.
1. That all written bids received for the purchase of said
bonds, excepting the bid herein stated, be, and they are hereby, re-
jected, and that said.bonds be, and they are hereby, ordered sold to
BANK OF AMERICA, N. T. & S. A. and Associates as the highest respon-
sible bidder therefor, with interest to the date of delivery of said
bonds„ said sale to be subject to all of the terms and conditions set
forth in the Notice of Sale of said bonds and in said accepted bid.
2. That the Secretary be, and she is hereby, directed to helve
said bonds printed forthwith,. and that the same be immediately signed,
sealed and delivered to said bidder on receipt of the amount therefor
as above stated, with interest but not otherwise, and upon the per-
formance of the conditions contained in said written offer.
3. That the interest rate of said bonds be, and the same is
hereby, fixed at the rate stated in said bid.
81 Upon motion by Director Littleton, duly seconded by Directnr
Wall, and carried unanimously, the following Resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the East San Bernardino
County Ilater District, as follows:
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hereto attached Grant
of Easement executed by RICHARD DAVID BROOD, BOYD HAROLD BROOKS, and
CHi',RLOTTE B. TELLES, to the EP= SAKI BER'A'::DINO COUNTY WATER DISTRICT,
dated January 22, 1957, be and the same is hereby accepted for and on
behalf of said Water,District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be attached
to said Grant of Easement and that the same be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of California,
and filed in the records of said Board.
GRANT OF EASE Upon motion by Director Wall, duly seconded by Director Littleton,
MENT, HADJES, and carried unanimously, the following Resolution was adopted:
RESOLUTION NO. 82
RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the East San Bernardino
County Water District, as follows:
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hereto attached Grant
of Easement executed by LOUIS W. HADJES and JUANITA M. HADJES, husband
and wife, to theEAST SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, dated
January 18, 1957, be and the same is hereby accepted for and on behalf
of said Water District.
BE IT FURTHER RESCLVED, that a copy of this resolution be attached
to said Grant of Easement and that the same be recorded inthe office of
the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of California, and
filed in the records of said Board.

SALE OF 10 FEET Upon motion by Director Taylor, duly seconded by Director
Or LOT 10, TRACT Littleton, and carried unanimously, the following Resolution was
2854, DIXON, adopted:
RESOLUTION NO. 83
RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the East San B
County Water District, San Bernardino County, California, that

WHEREAS, Wm. T. Dixon and Anna L. Dixon are desirous of pur-
chasing the certain property described as the North 10 feet of Lot
10, Tract No. 2854 in the amount of Fifty Dollars (. and
WHEREAS, it is the unanimous decision of this Board that the
District does not nor will not have need of said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED:
PURCHASE OF Upon motion by Director Taylor, duly seconded by Director Botts,
PERRIS HILL and carried unanimously, the Board authorized the purchase of the
PROPERTY, RE- Bruce property on Perris Hill for the future site of a million - gallon
SERVOIR SITE storage tank, said purchase price not to exceed x$7,500.00, and the
President and Secretary are hereby authorized to sign on behalf of the
District escrow instructions for the purchase of said land.

That E. Dana Brooks, President of the East San Bernardino
County Water District, is hereby designated as the authorized re-
presentative of the District and is hereby directed to execute on
behalf of the District a Grant Deed for and in consideration of
Fifty Dollars ($50.00) to W`M. T. DIXON and ANNA L. DIXONT that
certain property in the County of San Bernardino, State of Cali-
fornia, described as the North 10 feet of Lot 10, Tract No. 2854,
San Bernardino County Records, RESERVING the right to the East San
Bernardino County Water District egress and ingress to that certain
well and equipment located thereon; and
That Myrle G. North, Secretary of said District is directed to
countersign said Deed and affix thereto the Corporate Seal of the
District.
DAMAGE CLAIM Manager Rickert presented estimates regarding damage to Mrs.
DIAZ, 638 Elkl Diaz'- car. Said damage was caused due to the District employees
blocking the driveway, and in attempting to back out Mrs. hit
a fence at the side, causing damage in the amount of $75,53. It
was Manager Rickert's recommendation that this bill be paid by the
District. Upon motion by Director 1d_:ll, duly seconded by Director
Littleton, and carried unanimously, the Board authorized the issuance
of a Purchase Order to Dldson's Garage in the amount of $75153 per
their quotation of January 18, 1957.
PURCHA£ OF Manager Rickert requested approval for the purchase of a 4 -inch
DIAPHG1d PUMP diaphgram pump. Upon motion by Director Botts, duly seconded by
Director Littleton, and carried unanimously, the purchase of a 4 -inch
diaphgram pump was authorized, cost not to exceed `{$560.00.
REFUNDS SO.
CALIF. GAS CO.The Secretary presented a letter from the Southern California
Gas Company in which it was stated that a refund of $41.99 was due
the Pioneer Gardens Water Company. It was the opinion of Attorney
Ernest Wilson that any refund on deposit agreements between the
Southern California Gas Company and the Pioneer Gardens Water Company
should be paid the District. The basis of his opinion was that the
District contracted with Pioneer Gardens Water Company for the pur-
chase of its water syttem as of July 1, 1054, and to pay it for all
improvements subsequently made by it. The only asset reserved by the
Pioneer Gardens Water Company was customer water accounts; which the
District agreed to collect. Upon motion by Director Taylor, duly
seconded by Director Littleton, it was ordered that the Secretary
sunnit a letter to the Southern California Gas Company requesting
that said refunds hereafter be made to the District, and that the
District quarantees to warrant, defend, and save harmless the
Southern California Gas Company of and from all claims and demands .

RESERVOIR, 14 Upon motion by Director Botts, duly seconded by Director
S ;ARSFAU AND Littleton, and carried unanimously, Manager Rickert was authorized
STERLING to issue a Purchase Order to the Pittsburgh -Des Moines Steel Comrtzny
for the construction of a 35' x 70' steel storage tank in the amount
of $47,020.00.
ADJOURNMENT There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS - REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUL, Y 19 1957_
The Board of Directors met at 2:00 P.M., February 19, 1957, at the
regular meeting place.
Directors present: Botts, Littleton, Wall
Present at 3:00 P.M.: Brooks, Taylor
Also present: Manager Rickert; Engineer Rowe; Kenneth I. Jones
of Kirkbride, Wilson, Harzfeld & Wallace;
James Reiter of Daniel, Mann, Mendenhall & Johnson;

other interested parties; and the Secretary.
PRESIDENT PRO TEM Upon motion by Director Littleton, duly seconded by Director Wall,
and carried unanimously, Director Botts was chosen President Pro Tem
in the absence of President Brooks.
MINUTES Upon indication that each member present had read the minutes of the
previous meeting and that there were no additions or corrections,
the minutes were declared approved.
ANNEXATIONS The President announced that this was the time and place for the Board
to consider certain annexations to the District.
ANNEXATION The Secretary presented the petition of Annexation 1957 -1 together
NO. 1957 -1 -with the Affidavit of Publication showing that the publication had been
TRACT 110. 2792,made as required by law.
LOTS 41 -62 INCL.
The President announced that this was the time and place as set by the
Notice of Hearing to hear all protests and consider all written objec-
tions to the proposed annexation. The Secretary presented her certi-
ficate that the petition is signed by a majority in number of the holders
of title, or evidence of title,-to a majority in acreage of the land
proposed to be annexed. There being no written protest and there ap-
pearing no persons to offer written or oral. objections to the proposed
annexation, and discussion had and evidence taken relating to the benefits
to the District and the territory proposed to be annexed which would
result from the annexation, it was moved by Director Littleton, duly
seconded by Director Wall, and carried unanimously, that the hearing be
closed.
ORDINANCE NO. 38 Ordinance No. 38 was presented to the Board._ Upon motion of Director
Littleton, duly seconded by Director Wall, and carried unanimously,
Ordinance,No. 38, Altering Boundaries of the East San Bernardino County
Water District, was passed on roll call vote. The Secretary was directed
to post in three public places within the District copies of the above
entitled Ordinance.
ANNEXATION_ The Secretary presented the petition of Annexation 1957 -2 together with
NO. 1957 -2 - the Affidavit of Publication showing that the publication had been made
WITKIEIICZ - as required by law.
