Directors Present: Brooks, Littleton, Taylor, Wall Directors Absent: Botts Also Present: Attorney Holcomb, J. B. Hanauer, Engineer Cole, Manager Rickert and the Secretary MINUTES Upon indication that each member present had read the minutes of the previous meeting and that there were no additions or corrections, the minutes were declared approved. , MOBILE ODhrffiNI- It was the opinion of the .Board that maintenance of the mobile units CATIONS SYSTEM should be handled by the Motorola Company. Upon motion by Director MAINTENANCE Littleton, duly seconded by Director Wall, and carried unanimously, AGREEMENT the Secretary was authorized to sign a maintenance agreement with the Motorola Communications Company, Inc., containing a stipulation that the agreement may be cancelled with 30. -day written notice. ORDINANCE NO. Manager Rickert reported that the actual cost of individual service 53 AMENDING installation for a 5/8" x 3/4" meter was much greater than the charge RATE ORDINANCE of $50.00. Upon motion by Director Taylor, duly seconded by Director Wall, and carried unanimously, Ordinance No. 53, entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE EAST SAN BERNA DINO COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, AMENDING ARTICLE 5, PARAGRAPH 78 THEREOF, AND ARTICLE 17, PARAGRAPH 270 THEREOF, OF ORDINANCE NO. 4, ENTITLED 'ESTABLISHING RATES, RULES APID REGULATIONS FOR WATER SERVICE BY THE EAST SAN BERIARDINO COUNTY WATER DISTRICT,' AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 27 ", is hereby adopted to read as follows: Be it ordained by the Board of Directors of East San Bernardino County Water District as follows: SECTION 1. Paragraph 78 and Paragraph 270 of Ordinance No. 4, entitled "Establishing Rates, Rules and Regulations for Water Service by the East San Bernardino County Water District ", adopted November % 1954, are hereby amended to read as follows: 78. Installation Charges Where a regular charge has been fixed for the type of service connection desired, such regular charge shall be paid in advance by the applicant. Where there is no regular charge, the District reserves the riot to require the applicant to deposit an amount equal to the estimated cost of such service connection. The schedule pf regular service connection charges is as follows: 3/4" by 5/8° meter.- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0 $65:00 3/4-. All service connections larger than 3/4" shall be made at cost plus 10°x. Only duly authorized employees or agents of the District will be authorized to install service connections. ARTICLE 17. RATES 270. Meters may be installed at the option of the District - or the cus- tomer for above classification and meter rates applied. SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 27 is hereby repealed. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1957. CONTRACT, L. J. Manager Rickert reported that the contract price for Units I and II COUGHLIN & SONS would now be $32,330.40 due to certain Change Orders on jobs within UNITS I AND II those Units. He also reported that we were now ready to enter into a contract regarding Units ,lA, 1B, 1C and 1D, cost of said Units to be $18,132.06, individual costs as follows: lA $2,404.36 1B 3,506.40 1C 10,127.00 1D 2 094.30 18,132.06 Upon motion by Director Wall, duly seconded by Director Taylor, and carried unanimously, the President and Secretary are hereby authori- zed to sign on behalf of the District a contract with L. J. Coughlin Sons for Units III, IV and V and Units 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D in the amounts hereinbefore specified, all in accordance with the plans and specifications on file. Directors Present: Brooks, Botts, Littleton, Taylor, W Directors Absent: None Also Present: Attorney Holcomb, Engineers Rowe and Cole, Manager Rickert and the Secretary SEWERAGE Manager Rickert and Engineer Rowe reported on a meeting which was held with Mr. Frank Currie, engineer for sewers for the City of San Bernardino. This meeting was attended by Engineers James Reiter and J. P. Rowe and Manager Rickert. Engineer Rave reported that Mr. Reiter would set forth all details in a letter addressed to the Board at a later date. W 600 DISPOSAL PLANT Upon motion by Director Botts, duly seconded by Director Wall, and carried SITE ESCROW unanimously, Director Taylor was authorized to exercis* the option to purchase the Balcomb and Roesch property and to open a 60 -day escrow, depositing in escrow $1,500.00 for the Balcomb property and $1,200.00 for the Roesch property.
