HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - EVWD Board of Directors - 06/27/1960EAST SAN BER~RDINO COUNTY WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS - REGULAR MEETING JUNE 27, 1960 The Board of Directors met at 7:30 P.M., at the regular meeting place. Directors Present: Botts, President, Presiding; Brooks Littleton, LeVesque and Wall. Absent: None Others Present: General Manager-Secretary Rickert, Associate Engineer Cole, Auditor- Treasurer Bragg. MINUTES Upon indication that each Board Member had read the min- utes of the Iune 19, 1960 regular meeting, and there were no additions or corrections, the President declared the minutes approved as submitted. BIDS-WATER The President announced that this was the time and place INS - ~ORTION to open bids for labor and equipment to install water TRACT 5877 mains and appurtenant facilities in ~ucalyptus Avenue, Blythe Avenue, Valaria Drive and Amanda Street in Tract 5877, in accordance with plans and specifications. The following sealed bids were opened and read by the secretary: Robert Simon Contractor $2679.90 Michael C. Mize $2587.15 After reviewing the bid bond and proposal, the Associate Engineer reconmlended the proposal of Michael C. Mize be acqepted. Upon motion by Director Littleton, duly seconded by Dir- ector LeVesque, and carried unanimously, the bid pro- posal of Michael C. Mize in the amount of $2587.15 was accepted and ~he President and Secretary were authorized to execute a contract in accordance with the terms of the bid on behalf of the District. MAY -- FINANCIAL The Auditor-Treasurer presented a written Financial re- REPORT - WATER port for the water department for the month of May. Said report indicated cash receipts $45,828.38, cash disburse- ments $42,947.78, cash on hand as of May 31, 1960; $51,735.15, investments U.S. Treasury Bills $64,326.71. FINANCIAL The Auditor-Treasurer presented a written financial re- REPORT - SEWER port for the sewer department for the month of May. Said report indicated cash receipts $64,740.14, cash disburse- ments $56,099.62, cash on hand as of May 31, 1960 $45,249.35, investments U. S. Treasury Bills $272,716.58 and Certi- ficate of Deposit $25,000.00. AUTHORIZATION The General Manager asked for authorization to purchase a PURCHASE - mimeograph machine needed in making reports and legal forms PiIMEOGFJ~PH for annexations, ordinances, etc. He stated the Auditor- CHINE Treasurer had checked the operation and prices of various makes and concluded the B.D.C. model was best suited for District operation at a total price of $358.80. After brief discussion, upon motion by Director Littleton, duly seconded by Director LeVesque and carried unanimously, the General ManaGer was authorized to purchase the Model B.D.C. mimeograph machine at a total price of $358.80.
