BOARD MEETING
September 16, 1975 7:00 P.M.
A meeting of the Board of Directors of the North Fork Water Company
was held on September 16, 1975, at 7:00 P.M. at the office of the East
San Bernardino County Water District at 1155 Del Rosa Avenue, San Bernardino,
California.
Present: Directors - Arnold L. Wright
Paul Jennings,Jr.
Stuart George
Harold G. Rickert
Joseph Rowe
Elizabeth Kiel
Absent: Director - David H. Phares
Others in Attendance Howard H. Hendricks - Secretary
Upon a motion by Mr. Rowe, seconded by Mr. George and carried, the minutes
of July 9, 1975 were accepted as read and upon a motion by Mr. Jennings,
seconded by Mr. George and carried unanimously, the minutes of June 11, 1975
were approved as read.
The report of the Big Bear Area Regional Waste Water Agency was explained
by Mr. Rowe, concerning the alternatives that were available.
After considerable discussion it was moved by Mr. George, seconded by ~-~
Mr. Rickert, with Mr. Rowe abstaining, that the North Fork Water Company
object to any plan whereby any treated waste water that would be injected
into the lake, not be permitted and that any plan that would raise the lake
level with the increased evaporation rate, thereby increasing the TDS in
the lake, also be objected to. It was also requested that this objection
be made by the company's Water Right Counsel Mr. Denslow Green in making
the protest.
The subject came up concerning the exchange of State Water for local water.
After considerable discussion on the matter, upon a motion by Mr. Jennings,
seconded by Mr. Rowe and carried, that all parties involved in the exchange
be put on notice through Attorney Denslow Green, that no agency was to
dump State Water into the North Fork ditch. Only historical water shall
be allowed to flow into the North Fork facilities.
The Secretary was directed, upon a motion by Mr. Rickert, seconded by Mr.
George, to write to the United States Geological Survey, Research Department,
requesting that the report prepared by Marion Scott concerning the history
of the Mutual Water Companies within the San Bernardino Valley, be made
available to the North Fork Water Company as it is perhaps the only complete
study available at this time.
Mr. Rowe reported on his trip along North Fork Canal with Horace Hinkley.
Mrl Rowe passed out to the Board members a transcript that he had
prepared on this trip as it was recorded on a tape recorder on June 14, ~
1974. After reading the report, upon a motion by Mr. Rickert, seconded
by Mrs. Kiel, that Mr. Rowe's transcript of said trip, be made a part of
the minutes.
As there was no further business to be brought before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
