A meeting of the Board of Directors of the North Fork Water Company ~ was held on December 9, 1975, at 7:00 P.M. at the office of the East San Bernardino County Water District at 1155 Del Rosa Avenue, San Bernardino, California. Present: Directors - Arnold L. Wright Paul Jennings, Jr. Stuart George Joseph A. Rowe Elizabeth Kiel Absent: Directors - Harold G. Rickert David H. Phares Others in Attendance - Howard H. Hendricks - Secretary Horace Hinkley Donald Anderson Mr. Hendricks read the minutes of the September 16, 1975 Board Meeting and they were approved as read. President Wright recognized Mr. Anderson and Mr. Hinkley from the Bear Valley Mutual Water Company. They stated their primary purpose for coming to the meeting was to discuss a valve that could be placed on the surge line of the San Bernardino Municipal Water Department's ~ transmission line. The purpose of the valve would be to supply emergency water off the high pressure surge line into the North Fork facilities. Upon a motion by Mr. Rowe, seconded by Mrs. Kiel and carried, a joint letter be drafted by North Fork Water Company and Bear Valley Mutual Water Company to San Bernardino Municipal Water Department, requesting that they install the proper size gate valve on the surge line, with no cost to either company. The operation of said valve to be operated by joint consent of North Fork Water Company and Bear Valley Mutual Water Company, the joint letter to be drafted by Mr. Rowe and Mr. Hinkley. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Hinkley excused themselves and thanked the North Fork Water Company for their consideration. President Wright brought up for discussion the Easement that had been requested by Bechtel, the Engineers for San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District. The purpose of said easement was to install the surge line, with the installation being planned to cross North Fork Water Company's property on a diagonal. After discussion on the matter, upon a motion by Mr. Jennings, seconded by Mr. Rowe, that Mr. Jennings is to check the location and contact Mr. Rowe, giving Mr. Rowe said information. Mr. Rowe is then to discuss the problem with Attorney Robert J. Bierschbach of Surr and Hellyer, in proceeding to discuss with Bechtel that the North Fork Water Company feels that the nature of this easement should be at least $1,000, plus all costs and that they are to recognize in the easement, the canal and the company's rights to its use and maintenance, without interference or restriction.
