SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
March 16, 1976 7:00 P.M.
A Special Meeting of the Board of Directors of the North Fork Water ~
Company was held on March 16, 1976, at 7:00 P.M. at the office of the
East San Bernardino County Water District at 1155 Del Rosa Avenue, San
Bernardino, California.
Present: Directors - Arnold L. Wright
Paul Jennings,Jr.
Stuart George
Joseph A. Rowe
Elizabeth Kiel
Absent: Directors - Harold G. Rickert
David H. Phares
Others in attendance - Howard H. Hendricks - Secretary
Mr. Hendricks read the minutes of the December 9, 1975 Board Meeting
and they were approved as read.
President Wright brought up the subject of salary for Leon Stafford. Mr.
Stafford had requested from Bear Valley Mutual Water Company that retirement
benefits be paid on that portion of his salary he receives from North Fork
Water Company. After considerable discussion, upon a motion by Mr. Rowe
seconded by Mr. George, that additional information be acquired from
Bear Valley Mutual Water Company and brought to the Board at their next
meeting, which will probably be the annual Re Organization Meeting.
Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Mrs. Kiel, seconded by Mr. Rowe, that the Annual Meeting
be held April 30, 1976, at 10:00 A.M. at the offices of the East San
Bernardino County Water District. The question was asked concerning the
easements required by San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District and
it was stated that at this time no comment has been made, although letters
were sent by Attorney Jim Edwards.
President Wright referred to a letter that was sent from Attorney Denslow
Green concerning the ruling by the courts by Bear Valley Condemnation Suit.
The letter was read by the Secretary and upon a motion by Mr. Rowe,
seconded by Mr. George that the letter become a part of the minutes. Upon
a motion by Mr. Rowe, seconded by Mr. George,hat Attorney Jim Edwards be
contacted and asked if he could be present at the Annual Meeting, in order
to discuss the Condemnation action and what the status is and might likely
be.
Mr. Hendricks representing the East San Bernardino County Water District
and a Stockholder of North Fork Water Company, made a presentation request-
ing that North Fork Water Company allow the East San Bernardino County
Water District to exchange their North Fork Water Company water in the
Exchange Plan.Contract drafted by parties taking water from Mill Creek
and Santa Ana Rivers. Specifically he asked that the District be
allowed to exchange their water above the North Fork Box and in
turn in the future would accept water from the State Aqueduct as their
water.
After considerable discussion on the matter it was moved by Mr. George,
seconded by Mr. Jennings, that Mr. Edwards be contacted as to whether
or not North Fork Water Company may legally allow the District to
exchange their water in this fashion and if necessary, also contact
Attorney Denslow Green. Motion carried.
As there was no further business to be brought before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
