HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - North Fork Water Company - 08/25/1976NORTH FORK WATER COMPANY BOARD MEETING A meeting of the Board of Directors of the North Fork Water Company was held on August 25, 1976, at 7:00 P.M. at the office of the East San Bernardino County Water District at 1155 Del Rosa Avenue, San Bernardino, California. Present: Arnold L. Wright Stuart M. George Dennis Johnson Laird K. Roddick Joseph A. Rowe Elizabeth M. Kiel Absent: Paul Jennings,Jr. Others in attendance: Harold M. Fones, Secretary Correction in Minutes: Page No.77, 2nd Paragraph, should read: additional discussion prior to the vote on the above motion indicated that North Fork Water rights may be in jeopardy due to inactivity". Minutes of the August 4, 1976, meeting were read and approved as corrected. President Wright brought up the Cooperative Water Agreement and stated that it had been signed by Denslow Green, Attorney; Arnold Wright, Pre- sident; and Howard H. Hendricks, Secretary. President opened the discussion on a proposed agreement between North Fork Water Company and East San Bernardino County Water District rela- tive to Well No. 4 and the pipe from Well No.4 to the North Fork ditch and Well No. 3. It was moved by Joseph Rowe and seconded by Laird Roddick to allow the East San Bernardino County Water District to test the line and Well No.4, provided the District would hold the North Fork Water Company harmless. Motion passed unanimously. After further discussion, it was moved by Director Laird Roddick and seconded by Director Dennis Johnson to have East San Bernardino County Water District submit the proposed agreement to Surr and Hellyer for review. Motion carried unanimously. There was considerable discussion on the provision for capital recovery through the main extension charge and the Secretary was instructed to try to change the wording to provide for capital recovery should the existing pipeline be relocated due to the Mentone Dam or other similar situations. Director Johnson suggested that there might be some problems obtaining clear title to Wells No. 3 and 4, due to Deed restrictions. President Wright suggested that Well No.3 be checked out in the minutes of the years 1938 through 1941, that Surr and Hellyer be contacted in this regard. Director Johnson moved that the East San Bernardino County Water District be allowed to test the water quality in Wells No.3 and 4. Motion seconded by Director Joseph Rowe. During the discussion, Arnold Wright granted permission on behalf of the Cram interest to test the water quality in Well No.3. The motion passed unanimously. President Wright requested that the Secretary provide the Board with minutes prior to the meetings as is the standard procedure. President Wright requested a status report from Director Johnson re a letter from the Carriage Hill Home Owners Association. Director Johnson indicated he had called the spokesman for the group and asked them to set up a meeting to discuss the problem. At the present time they have not arranged a meeting. President Wright requested that the Secretary contact Bob Bierschbach on the status of the claim against the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District.
