Bear Valley and North Fork Customers
Dear Shareholder:
As you may be aware, we are continuing to experience
relatively low flows in the Santa Ana River. The .River is
currently flowing at approximately 15 to 16 CFS.'
A substantial amount of water has been purchased this
year from the State Water Project to meet all deliveries.
The State, however, is planning to retrofit the Devil Canyon
afterbay. This will necessitate taking the system down
beginning December 1st and continuing for approximately 3 to
4 months. During this time, the only water available will
be native flows in the Santa Ana. North Fork Water
Company's portion of this flow will be one-fourth or
approximately 4 CFS.
For this reason, we are scheduling an emergency meeting
of the North Fork Directors to evaluate a new delivery rate
for the next.few months. All deliveries on Bear Valley
stock must be coordinated through the Bear Valley Mutual
Water Company. Beginning December 1stol this year, no water
will be delivered for the Bear Valley stock unless prior
arrangements have been made between North Fork and Bear
Valley. If you own Bear Valley stock and wish to take
deliveries after Nov-mher 30, I urge you to contact Mr. John
Shone at Bear Valley Mutual Water Company to make the
necessary arrangements. He will then advise us of the
amount of water to be delivered to each shareholder.
If you should have any questions, please contact us at
714)888-8986.
